 Title: When is multiplication in a Banach algebra open?

 Abstract  
We will give some results concerning openness of mutliplication (regarded as a bilinear map) in Banach algebras. For instance, we will show that each Banach algebra whose mulitplication is open has topological stable rank 1. We will be also interested in convolution algebras. The talk will be based on a joint work with Tomasz Kania.
