The International Conference on Complex Systems is a unique
interdisciplinary forum that unifies and bridges the traditional domains of
science and a multitude of real world systems. Participants will contribute
and be exposed to mind expanding concepts and methods from across the
diverse field of complex systems science.

Special Topic - Artificial Intelligence: This year’s conference will
include a day on AI, including its development and potential future. This
session will be chaired by Iyad Rahwan of MIT's Media Lab.

The ICCS Executive Committee invites you to submit an original design to be
featured on the official conference t-shirts. The design should incorporate
complex systems ideas or concepts. Designs should be submitted by June 10,
2018. The ICCS Executive Committee will select the winner and announce
their decision on June 20, 2018.

The winning contestant will receive two free t-shirts printed with their
design, public recognition of their achievement, and the choice of (a) two
free tickets to the Sunset Cruise on Saturday, July 21st, or (b) one free
ticket to the Banquet on Wednesday, July 25th.

Below is a list of networking events and special sessions scheduled for
ICCS 2018. All of these events are free for conference participants, but we
ask that you sign-up for the events you wish to attend, after you have
first registered for the conference:

Young Researchers Networking Event - Saturday, July 21st
Opportunity for PhD students and Postdocs to connect ahead of the
conference in the absence of faculty, and share snippets of their favorite
scientific approaches over light bites at NECSI. Those joining for the
sunset cruise directly afterwards will walk to the dock together.

Reception - Sunday, July 22nd
At the end of the first full day of the conference, we will be hosting a
formal welcome reception celebrating ICCS.

Networking Event - Tuesday, July 24th
Networking evening with activities to connect our vibrant community.

"Unconference" - Wednesday, July 25th
Turning the conference on its head! Stepping out of the conventional
conference model, the Unconference session will create space for
self-organised, peer-to-peer learning, collaboration and creativity over
lunch! All conference participants will be able to propose "hosting" a
session on a topic they’re interested in. Other participants will be
invited to vote for the session that inspire them most. The top sessions
will then be granted space to allow for open, interactive discussions and
lively debates confronting diverse perspectives!

Low-key Socializing - Friday, July 27th
Wind down after the conference with your friends and colleagues, old and
new - join us for drinks and dinner.
