Title: Classification complexity in topology and dynamical systems

Abstract

In this talk, we present a framework for understanding the complexity of classification problems through the lens of Invariant Descriptive Set Theory—a powerful toolkit developed to rigorously measure and compare classification tasks across mathematics. After introducing the necessary background, we focus on classification problems of compact metrizable spaces up to homeomorphism and classification problems of discrete-time continuous dynamical systems up to conjugacy.
