Title: An introduction to Nichols algebras

Abstract <br />
<p><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class="ql-font-monospace">Nichols algebras appear in various areas of mathematics, ranging from</span></p><p><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class="ql-font-monospace">Hopf algebras and quantum groups to Schubert calculus and conformal</span></p><p><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class="ql-font-monospace">field theory. Originally introduced in the 1970s through the work of</span></p><p><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class="ql-font-monospace">Nichols, they have been rediscovered multiple times, maybe because</span></p><p><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class="ql-font-monospace">they appear in several different contexts. In this introductory talk,</span></p><p><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class="ql-font-monospace">I will review the basic concepts and outline the main challenges</span></p><p><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" class="ql-font-monospace">involved in classifying Nichols algebras over groups.
